About
Joshua W. Westcott

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University, earning a degree in telecommunications (now information systems). I later went on to attend Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University, where I met my wife and moved to Lakeland, Florida, finishing my legal studies at Barry University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude.

I began my legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida and soon moved on to work in various roles in both private practice and government employment in the areas of Family Law, Probate and Estates, Criminal Litigation, and Business Law. Since 2015, I have been helping the people of Lakeland, Polk County, and other areas of central Florida with their legal issues.

Life is complicated, and so are legal problems. It’s rare to find an “easy” solution. Whether it’s a divorce case, probate issue, criminal problem, or any other area of law, you can be sure that you will cross paths with various areas of law in any given legal scenario. That’s why it helps to look at any given legal issue with a broad depth of knowledge across multiple areas of law. Most legal problems are a tangled web of issues that don’t fit neatly in one given area of law. Coming up on nearly two decades of legal experience, I’ve applied a holistic approach to help solve a variety of challenging legal issues. If you have a legal problem in Polk County, Florida, call today to see if I can help you too.
